SEVN · Pre-seed deck · Summer 2026

Dating's first competitive league.

Entry-gated at a community score of 7.0. Ranked seasons above it. SEVN turns the most emotionally loaded question on the internet — am I attractive? — into a game people pay to keep playing.

The problem

Swiping is infinite. Status is scarce. Dating apps sell the first and ignore the second.

Fatigue

The feed never ends

Median swiper sees 140 profiles a session and remembers none of them. Infinite supply killed the thrill that built the category.

No stakes

Nothing to win, nothing to lose

Every profile is equal, forever. No progression, no consequence, no reason to put effort into how you show up.

Status hunger

People already keep score

Screenshots of "my Hinge standouts," Raya-brag TikToks, "rate me" subreddits with millions of members. The scoreboard exists — it's just unofficial.

The solution

A dating app with a door policy and a ladder behind it.

SEVN admits anyone the community rates 7.0 or above. Inside, matching runs on an Elo engine and everyone plays weekly ranked seasons. It's Raya's exclusivity, Tinder's scale mechanics, and gaming's ladder — in one loop. Self-aware by design: the app knows it's ridiculous, which is exactly why people will talk about it.

How it works

Gate. Rank. Season.

The rating gate

New applicants are scored blind by 2 000+ community votes over 48 hours. Hit 7.0 and the doors open with a full-screen gold verdict. Miss it, and you can reapply next season — with a better photographer.

Mechanic · scarcity + earned entry

Elo matchmaking

Every like, pass, and conversation adjusts a hidden Elo. You're matched near your bracket — so matches feel attainable and flattering at the same time. Great dates raise your rating. Ghosting lowers it.

Mechanic · skill-based matchmaking

Seasons & leagues

Eight-week seasons, Gold and Diamond leagues, weekly standings, relegation below 7.0. Streaks, badges, end-of-season rewards. The reason to open the app daily even when you're not looking for a date.

Mechanic · retention ladder
Mercury's in retrograde and you're still out here. Respect.
Why now

Swipe fatigue is public, gamification is proven, and the culture already keeps score.

Category stall

Incumbents are flat

Major dating platforms have reported stagnating payer counts since 2023. The category needs a new loop, not a new filter.

Ranked works

Gaming showed the way

Ranked ladders and battle passes are the most durable retention systems ever shipped. Nobody has run them on romance.

Built to screenshot

The score is the ad

"I got a 7.4" is inherently shareable content. Every verdict screen is organic acquisition we don't pay for.
